Privacy Policy

Masji ("we", "us") provides free management software for masjids, used through this website and the Masji mobile app. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how it is handled.
1. Information We Collect
When a masjid registers, we collect the administrator's name, email address, phone number, and the masjid's name and location (including GPS coordinates, if provided, to place it correctly on the map). When a masjid records members, donors, or blood donors, that masjid's admins may enter names, phone numbers, addresses, and blood group. Financial data entered by a masjid — donations, expenses, dues, loans — is stored under that masjid's own account.
2. How We Use Information
Information is used only to operate the service: authenticating logins, showing each masjid its own records, generating reports and receipts, and sending account-related notifications (e.g. approval status, dues reminders). We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed, not stored in plain text. Sessions are encrypted, and the app stores your login token using your device's secure, encrypted storage rather than plain files.
4. Location Data
The Masji app may request your device's precise location, once, when registering a new masjid — solely to place a correct pin on the masjid's public map listing. Location is not collected in the background and is not tracked afterward.
5. Data Sharing
Each masjid's data (members, finances, donors) is private to that masjid and its authorized admins/staff — it is never shared with other masjids. Aggregate, non-identifying statistics (e.g. total number of masjids using Masji) may be shown publicly. We do not share personal data with third parties for marketing.
6. Your Rights
You may request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at support@masji.org. Masjid admins can edit or remove member/donor records directly from their dashboard.
7. Data Retention
We retain account and financial records for as long as the masjid's account remains active, so historical reports stay accurate. If a masjid closes its account, associated personal data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law.
8. Children's Privacy
Masji is intended for masjid administrators and adult members of the community. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the date at the top of this page.
